Molecule F 2003 Masters National Speed SeriesThe 2003 USSA Alpine Masters National Speed Series, sponsored by Molecule F, consists a series of SG and DH speed events, with races held in three divisions (Northern, Intermountain, Rocky). The series concludes with the finals at the National Championships in Park City in March. |
The Molecule F Speed Series champion trophies are awarded to the racer in each of three groups with the most total points in all races of the series:
Congratulations to the 2003 Speed Series champions: Rick Slabinski (M04, Intermountain), Glenn McConkey (W08, Intermountain), and Ned Dolan (M08, Intermountain).
Age class winners were also honored at the finals in Park City, with belt buckles awarded to the top 3 racers with the most points in each age class.

Note: Scoring is based on the "old World Cup points" system, with points are awarded to the top 15 finishers in each group on the scale 25, 20, 15, 12, 11, ..., 1.
Because the US National Downhill Championships could not be held at Snowbasin in March as hoped, due to warm spring conditions that rendered course conditions unsafe, the first downhill race at Aspen Highlands on Feb. 23 was designated as the title event for the 2003 national downhill championship.
