The 2017 Eastern Championships were hosted by Eastern Division at Okemo and Suicide Six on Feb. 25-27, 2017. The 2017 Eastern Championships are a 4-race SL/GS/SG/SG event with SL-GS-SG1 included in the combined scoring for the overall regional class champion awards. The both SG races also count in the 2017 National Speed Series standings and all four races will be included in the Sise Cup scoring.
Okemo Mountain and Suicide Six, both popular masters racing sites, are combining resources to host the 2017 Eastern Masters Championships. The SL portion of the event will be held at Suicide Six, which is a 30 minute drive north to Woodstock, running out of the upper start. The Face of Suicide Six has long been one of the most favored racing trails in the East, and still lays claim to the longest ongoing trophy race in the country, the Fisk Trophy Race. The masters have been contesting the Bunny Bertram Memorial SL at Suicide Six since the inception of masters ski racing in the 1970s.
Okemo Mountain will host the GS and two Super G's on the Chief racing trail.
You must have a current USSA Masters competition license to compete in regional and national championship events. (Competitors may participate under a daily short-term USSA membership license, but are not eligible for the regional championship team awards) Complete information on entry procedures and fees are published each fall in the 2017 USSA Master's Competition Guide.
NOTE: Short-term USSA licenses will be available for those without a current USSA masters license which will allow entry on a per-day basis to any races of the series. Those racing on short-term memberships will be eligible for daily race awards, but will not be eligible for any overall Eastern Championships awards.
