Molecule F 2008 Masters National Speed Series

The 2008 USSA Alpine Masters National Speed Series, sponsored by Molecule F, consists a series of 12 SG and DH speed events, with races held in five divisions (Far West, Intermountain, Rocky, PNSA, and Eastern). The series concludes with the finals at the National Championships in Mammmoth Mountain in March.

The Molecule F Speed Series champion trophies are awarded to the overall fastest racer in each of three groups, based on the total points in all races of the series:

Congratulations to the 2008 Speed Series champions: Willy Scroggins (M05, PNSA), Knut Olberg (M08, PN), and Linda Crowell (W06, FW).

Custom belt buckles are awarded to the top three finishers in each age class of the season-long series.

Schedule notes: The 1st of 2 SG's on Sat Feb. 2 at Mammoth is scored for NSS standings. The 1st SG and DH on Fri. Feb. 15 and Sun Feb. 17 respectively at Aspen are scored for NSS standings.

(1) Western Regional SG With a foot of new snow on Friday forcing cancellation of the scheduled SG race run, the second training run from Thursday was declared as the Western Region championship SG. As announced to competitors when designated as conditional race run, the SG is included in the NSS results as originally planned.
